Welcome to the Gaming & Leisure Association of Ireland (GLAI)

The Gaming and Leisure Association of Ireland, as a non profit trade association, represents the interests of its members around Ireland, both nationally and at EU level. The Association represents private members’ gaming clubs who provide casino-like services to their members.

Casino Regulation and Casinos in Ireland: The casino sector in Ireland is currently not subject to regulation. The GLAI is committed to securing regulation for its members, by engaging with stakeholders, both public and private, who have a part to play in bringing about the regulation of the casino & gaming sector in Ireland. The GLAI also assists its members by providing advice on best-practice as gleaned from other regulated jurisdictions.

Our philosophy is that only through a regulated environment can we assist in promoting responsible gambling in Ireland, protecting the young and vulnerable and ensuring public safety. Our aims are to secure regulation for private members’ gaming clubs, promote best practice in gaming in Ireland and assist members in the transition to a regulated environment while provide an identifiable voice for the casino sector.

Land-based and online gaming in Ireland: in a properly-regulated environment, there is significant potential for growth in the gaming and gambling industry, thus creating employment and substantial increases in tax revenues.
